Former Cabinet Minister, Smriti Z Irani, graced the Convocation ceremony for Northern Region today as the Chief Guest. The event was organized by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
Congratulating the newly inducted members of the ICSI, Irani said, “Company Secretaries are the ethical spine of the corporate world. You must abide by your Motto – Satyam Vada, Dharmam Chara , while advising the corporates. The ICSI has uniquely placed you on the ‘Agnipath’ of providing your expert guidance in a judicious manner. Remember, the future is built by design and discipline and you must strive to become an exemplary professional, doing your best every day.” She also commended the ICSI for its contribution to the growth and development of Panchayat Governance in India.
Addressing the students, CS Dhananjay Shukla, President, The ICSI, urged the new members to embrace opportunities and understand their responsibility towards the profession and the ICSI, which is today being looked upon as the leading body in promoting good governance across the globe.
