DRI, Mumbai officers arrest a Brazilian national carrying cocaine worth Rs 11crore at Mumbai airport

Based on the intelligence input, Department of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Mumbai officers intercepted a Brazilian Female passenger who had arrived at Mumbai airport from Sau Paulo in flight AF 218.

On personal search of the passenger, seven pouches containing viscous liquid substance were found stitched in inner clothing.  On testing with field test kit, the viscous liquid substance tested positive for cocaine. The passenger also accepted that she was carrying cocaine in these pouches. 1110 gm of cocaine in liquid form, valued at Rs. 11.1 Crores in the illicit market was recovered.

The recovered cocaine was seized under the NDPS Act, 1985 and the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is in progress.
