India Gets a Formidable Lead on the 2nd Day of First Test

New Delhi || 23-11-2024 India scored 172 runs without losing any wicket at the stumps of second day’s play of the first test match at Perth. Yashasvi Jaiswal on 90 not out and K L Rahul on 50 not out.

Earlier on the day Jasprit Bumrah got 5 wickets, Debutant Harshit Rana got 3 wickets and Mohammed Siraj got 2 wickets. Australia bundled out for 104 runs in 52 Overs. Mitchell Starc scored highest runs for Australia. He faced 112 balls to get 26 runs.

Alex Carey looked good, before getting out to Bumrah for 21 runs. Seven batsmen of the Aussies could not pass the double figure mark runs in their innings.

When India came to bat in the second innings both the openers showed some grit to have their half centuries. Jaiswal’s 193 balls 90 runs came off with 7 fours and 2 sixes and  K L Rahul showed immense patience to score his half century and silenced everybody with the bat.

India now got a massive lead of 218 runs with 10 wickets in hand. The result is definitely in the cards as 3 days left in the first test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
