Two people were killed and five others injured after a Ganesh idol fell during the arrival ceremony of ‘Bhuleshwaracha Raja’ in south Mumbai on yesterday night.
The incident took place around 10 pm on Balaram Merchant Road near Kabutarkhana at Jay Ambe Chowk in Bhuleshwar.
The injured, including two children, were rushed to nearby hospitals and were later reported to be in stable condition.
Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, traffic police, the 108 ambulance service and civic ward staff were mobilised following the incident.
The deceased were identified as Sanket Nevshe and Brijesh Hemant Joshi.
