Sarbananda Sonowal Inaugurates Seven Projects Worth Around ₹427 Crore at Paradip Port

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal today inaugurated seven major infrastructure projects worth around 427 crore rupees at Paradip Port Authority (PPA) in Paradip, Odisha.

During the event, Sonowal also presided over the signing of concession agreements for three mechanisation projects worth around 1500 crore rupees aimed at further strengthening Paradip’s capacity, efficiency and cargo-handling capabilities.

Addressing the event, Minister Sonowal said that the investments will strengthen Paradip’s position as a major maritime gateway, creating wider economic opportunities across the eastern region.

He said with deeper drafts, modern cargo-handling infrastructure, improved connectivity and greater mechanisation, Paradip is well positioned to drive trade, logistics, industry and employment across the region, contributing to India’s emergence as a globally competitive maritime economy.

The Ministry said that the projects includes navigation, connectivity, safety, sustainability, residential infrastructure and community development.
