India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, met Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in Doha on Sunday.
Dr. S. Jaishankar thanked him for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community.
Both leaders reviewed various facets of bilateral cooperation, especially energy, trade, investment, connectivity, security, and people-to-people ties.
They explored new opportunities for deepening the strategic partnership. The EAM appreciated his sharing of assessments on the West Asia conflict and its impact.
The EAM will next visit Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman.
The EAM will thereafter visit New York to launch India’s official campaign for the UN Security Council tenure for 2028–29 on July 13.
He will then visit Brussels for two days from July 14, where he will attend the 3rd India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting and interact with his EU and Belgian counterparts.
