IMD Forcasts Heavy Rain over Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and South Gujarat

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and south Gujarat during 03rd-06th July; over West Madhya Pradesh and Odisha on 03rd & 04th July, 2026.

IMD confirmed that the Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Gujarat, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, and some more parts of Rajasthan and Haryana, today.

A Low Pressure Area lay over Northwest Bay of Bengal. Under its influence, monsoon likely to continue in active phase over central parts of the country during next 4-5 days.

South Bengal is likely to experience scattered heavy rains, said Dr. Habibur Rahman Biswas, Regional Director of the Alipore Meteorological Department.

The low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal will intensify into a distinct depression and move further west and northwest. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Monday.
