As Shri Amarnath Yatra is underway, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has made elaborate arrangements at Jammu Tawi Railway Station to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims arriving from across the country.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu, Uchit Singhal, along with commercial and operating officials, inspected the railway station to review facilities and assess preparedness for the yatra.

The railway authorities have established a fully covered passenger holding area equipped with seating, lighting, fans, coolers and drinking water facilities.

Round-the-clock housekeeping services have also been deployed to maintain cleanliness, while additional staff have been stationed to ensure timely water supply to trains.

A 24×7 help desk has been set up at the station where railway personnel, along with Scouts and Guides, are assisting pilgrims with train schedules, platform information, medical aid and other services.

To ensure security and effective crowd management, additional ticket checking staff, commercial officials and Railway Protection Force personnel have been deployed, while CCTV surveillance and continuous monitoring from the railway war room have also been put in place.

Meanwhile, Platform Nos. 4 and 5 have been commissioned for train operations, with Train No. 13152 becoming the first train to operate from the newly commissioned platform on Friday.

The railway administration has appealed to pilgrims to undertake the journey only after completing registration, purchase tickets from authorised counters, avoid accepting food or beverages from strangers, refrain from unnecessary crowding on platforms, and contact the Rail Madad Helpline 139 or the station help desk for assistance.
