One of the most popular names in Indian gymnastics, Dipa Karmakar has embarked on a new journey in her career. After bringing laurels to the nation as an accomplished gymnast, the Golden Girl of Tripura has now taken on the role of a coach.
Dipa recently served as the coach of the Indian junior women’s team at the 19th Junior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Junyi, China. In an exclusive interview with DD , she shared her experience of transitioning from being an athlete to becoming a coach.
She said that sports infrastructure in Tripura has improved significantly over the years and expressed confidence that the state will produce many talented gymnasts in the future.
It may be mentioned that Dipa Karmakar is currently training young gymnasts on a regular basis at the NSRCC in Agartala, nurturing the next generation of talent and contributing to the growth of gymnastics in the state.
