The Indian women’s cricket team has qualified for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games as the top-placed Asian team in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The International Cricket Council stated that Australia, England, India, and South Africa have qualified for the six-team women’s event after finishing as the highest-ranked teams from Oceania, Europe, Asia, and Africa, respectively, at the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Meanwhile, India’s men’s squad will have to be the continental leader in the world rankings at the end of this year to clinch a direct berth.

The host country, the USA, is guaranteed one quota place each in the men’s and women’s competitions.

Cricket returns to the Olympics after 128 years and will feature six teams each in the men’s and women’s competitions.
