The 5th International Tiger Week was organized at Ranthambore in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. The programme featured various sessions on wildlife conservation and environmental protection. Wildlife conservation and environmental experts also discussed the growing dimensions of conservation tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, conservationist Dr. Anish Andheriya highlighted the need for coexistence between humans and wildlife in the present times. He said the initiative is just the beginning and stressed that people must reflect on how much pressure their lifestyles are placing on forests.
During the programme, awards were presented in 11 categories to individuals associated with tiger and wildlife conservation. Children who spread the message of tiger conservation through their paintings were also honoured.
