England tops group L as Bellingham and Kane shine against Panama

England qualified for the World Cup knockout rounds as group winners with a 2–0 victory over Panama in New Jersey on Saturday. Jude Bellingham was adjuged as the player of the mach scoring one goal and set up another.

The mid-fielder Bellingham provided the crucial breakthrough for England with a 62nd-minute goal and then delivered the cross for Harry Kane to double England’s advantage and seal top spot in Group L.

Croatia, meanwhile, claimed second place in the group behind England with a 2–1 victory over Ghana in Philadelphia.

In this edition of FIFA World cup, the 48 participating teams are divided into 12 groups of four, with the top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams will be advanced to the next round.

These 32 teams then enter a single-elimination knockout bracket, starting with the Round of 32, followed by the Round of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and the Final.
