President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Awards 2026 at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in New Delhi.
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan, India’s Home Minister Amit Shah and other dignitaries.
Veteran actor Mammootty was conferred the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour, for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, particularly the Malayalam film industry.
Renowned playback singer Alka Yagnik was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan for her exceptional contribution to Indian music.
Former Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma received the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, in recognition of his remarkable contribution to Indian cricket.
Acclaimed actor R. Madhavan was awarded the Padma Shri for his distinguished contribution to Indian cinema. Madhavan  is known for his versatile performances across multiple film industries.
A total of 65 Padma Awards were presented, including two Padma Vibhushan, seven Padma Bhushan and 56 Padma Shri honours.
