Four passengers were died in a train accident today, while they were crossing the tracks near to Dholpur station.
According to the railways statement on June 14, 2026, at approximately 16:15 hours, Train No. 19665 Khajuraho–Udaipur Intercity Express came to a halt on the Hetampur (HET)–Dholpur (DHO) section of the Jhansi Division (North Central Railway) after a passenger pulled the alarm chain in the general coach (the second coach from the engine).
According to preliminary information, while the train was stopped, some passengers alighted and walked onto the adjacent railway track.
During this time, reports indicate that some passengers were died after struck by Train No. 20424 Firozpur–Seoni Patalkot Express, which was approaching from the ‘Up’ direction.
Upon receiving information about the incident, officials from the Railway administration, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and local administration immediately rushed to the site.
Necessary assistance is being provided to the affected passengers. A detailed investigation into the causes and circumstances of the incident is underway.
In a statement the ministry of Railways said that “No mistake of railways. It was a chain pulling matter and passengers crossing at wrong place.”
The Railway administration appeals to passengers not to disembark from moving or stationary trains without authorization under any circumstances and to strictly adhere to railway safety regulations.
