Railway constitutes inquiry committee to investigate Thiruvananthapuram-Nizamuddin Rajdhani fire incident

West Central Railway has constituted a higher administrative grade level inquiry committee to investigate the fire incident in the Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express yesterday.

The fire incident occurred in one passenger coach, one luggage brake and a generator car of the train between Luni Richha and Vikramgarh Alot stations in Madhya Pradesh.

Indian Railways said that, as per the provisions of the accident manual, the committee has been directed to complete the inquiry within the stipulated time frame.

It added that the committee will conduct a detailed examination of the causes of the incident, technical aspects and safety parameters so as to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future.
