India’s men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty finished runners-up at the Thailand Open after losing 12-21, 23-25 to Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the final.

The defeat extended the Indian pair’s wait for a first BWF World Tour title since May 2024. The Indonesians dominated the opening game with powerful smashes and sharp attacking play, while the Indians struggled with unforced errors.

Satwik and Chirag improved in the second game and fought hard till the end, but Carnando and Marthin held their nerve to seal the title. Indian badminton players will next be seen in action at the Malaysia Masters BWF Super 500 tournament next week.
