In Assam, Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve has witnessed a record-breaking tourist season in 2025-26, with nearly 4.68 lakh visitors arriving at the national park so far. The numbers will further increse as the vacation is about to start.

According to the official figures, a total of 4,68,147 tourists visited Kaziranga during the current tourism season that began in October 2025. Among them, 4,37,673 were domestic tourists while 30,474 were foreign visitors, marking the highest-ever number of international tourists in the park’s history.

Famous worldwide as the habitat of the one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga, continues to attract visitors with its rich wildlife, including tigers, deer, wild buffaloes, birds and reptiles.

Authorities stated that the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kaziranga, along with events such as Advantage Assam and the International Tourism Mart, significantly boosted tourism promotion.

Although there were concerns that early rainfall might negatively affect tourism, more than 50,000 tourists visited Kaziranga during March and April despite heavy rain. The elephant safari season, which concluded in mid-April, also drew a large number of visitors.

Meanwhile, various attractions such as cycling, birdwatching and the orchid park have further boosted tourist footfall in the national park. Authorities are also working to introduce more such activities for visitors.
