The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, has secured the extradition of fugitive Mohammad Navas Kakkat Ismail from the United Arab Emirates to India.

The CBI said, the accused was wanted in connection with a case registered by the Delhi Police for offences including extortion, cheating, criminal misappropriation, forgery, and impersonation. Acting on a request from Delhi Police, the CBI had earlier issued a Red Notice against the accused through INTERPOL channels.

He was subsequently traced and arrested by authorities in the UAE. Mohammad Navas Kakkat Ismail was brought to India yesterday and arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, where he was taken into custody by Delhi Police.
