Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that Indian armed forces and industry have analysed and understood the changing circumstances and our preparedness is always up-to-date, up-to-the-mark, and up-to-the-standard, and Operation Sindoor is the best example of this. While addressing the inaugural ceremony of North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj, Defence Minister highlighted that Operation Sindoor was a model of technological warfare and in this operation, along with advanced missiles, many latest equipment had been used.

Referring to pager attacks in Lebanon and Syria, the Defence Minister said that things we considered part of normal civilian life have now become deadly weapons.

He added that everything can be weaponised today. In such situations, the preparedness of a country like India becomes even more important.

The Defence Minister highlighted that the government has taken several steps to strengthen the Indian defence ecosystem and initiatives such as i-DEX, ADITI, and TDF have significantly boosted innovation and also strengthened private sector participation.

He also emphasised the government’s push to elevate defence research through the DRDO, which has played a key role in advancing indigenous capabilities.

Defence Minister called on Indian industries to step forward with full strength and strive for excellence in next-generation technologies.

He specifically pointed to areas such as Directed Energy Weapons, Hypersonic Weapons, Quantum Technologies, and Machine Learning as critical domains for future growth.

The three day event jointly organised by the Indian Army’s Northern and Central Commands and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers will see participation from 284 companies showcasing indigenous defence technology.
