PM Modi virtually inaugurates Indoor Cricket Academy in Sovima, Nagaland

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inauguratedthe Indoor Cricket Academy at Sovima yesterday, marking a major boost to cricket infrastructure in Nagaland.

The inauguration took place during the 50th anniversary celebrations of Sikkim statehood in Gangtok, along with five other academies across the Northeast.

Funded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the state-of-the-art facility will provide modern indoor training facilities and year-round practice opportunities for aspiring cricketers, and is equipped with indoor practice nets, modern pitches, and swimming pool.

In a statement, the Nagaland Cricket Association said the academy represents the beginning of a stronger future for cricket in the state.

Meanwhile, Vice President of Athletics Federation of India, Abu Metha termed the academy as a true game-changer for the advancement of cricket in Nagaland.
