The District Administration Pulwama, in collaboration with SDRF, NDRF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Home Guards and Civil Defence, conducted a civil defense air raid and blackout mock drill at District Police Lines (DPL) Pulwama.
The exercise aimed to assess preparedness for emergency situations, strengthen inter-agency coordination and ensure a prompt and effective response to potential air raids or natural disasters.
During the drill, personnel demonstrated evacuation procedures, blackout measures, rescue and relief operations, and other public safety protocols. The exercise also tested the emergency response system, communication network and coordination among various departments.
Officials said such drills are conducted to enhance the professional capabilities of personnel and to minimize loss of life and property in unforeseen situations.
The mock drill was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, ASP Shafqat Ahmad Najar, a DSP and other concerned officers.
The District Administration said such initiatives are vital for strengthening the disaster management system and building a safe, aware and well-prepared society.
