Football legend Lionel Messi has become the new owner of Spanish club UE Cornella, the club announced.
The fifth-tier side confirmed that “eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi has formalised the acquisition of the club.”
The 38-year-old, currently playing for Inter Miami FC, has had a decorated career spanning FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine scored 672 goals in 778 appearances for Barcelona and won multiple domestic and international titles before moving to PSG in 2021 and later joining Inter Miami in 2023.
