A monument dedicated to Swami Vivekananda was unveiled in the heart of downtown Seattle on Saturday.
The unveiling ceremony took place at Westlake Square, with Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson and the Consul General of India jointly inaugurating the monument.
Several dignitaries, including mayors from cities such as Kent, Auburn, Tukwila, Normandy Park, and Kirkland, were present at the event. Participants and community members also attended the ceremony in large numbers.
The event featured an Indian cultural dance performance, highlighting the cultural significance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
Following the unveiling, a programme was held at the Consulate, where Mayor Katie Wilson addressed participants and speakers reflected on Swami Vivekananda’s message. Souvenirs were also shared with dignitaries during the ceremony.
