Katihar Accident: 13 Died, 30 injured in Bihar

In a sad incident in Bihar’s Katihar at least 13 people died and 30 injured on Saturday evening in a road accident. The accident occured with the collision of a bus, a truck and a pickup van.

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have expressed grief over the loss of lives in Bihar.

In a social media post, President Murmu described the news as deeply distressing. She conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.

In a post on X, the Vice President also extended his condolences to the affected families and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called the mishap in Katihar extremely painful. In a social media post, Modi expressed condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and wished for the recovery of the injured at the earliest.

The Prime Minister also announced an ex gratia of two lakh rupees from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, that would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given 50,000 rupees.
