CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurates 25th All India Police Water Sports Cluster

ITBP Organizes the Mega Sporting Event in Tehri, Uttarakhand

The 25th All India Police Water Sports Cluster, organized by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF), was inaugurated today by Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, in virtual mode.

The national-level competition is being held at Tehri Lake from 8-12 April, 2026. A total of 20 teams from across the country are participating, with 52 events in canoeing, kayaking and rowing with more than one-third of the participants are women.

Chief Minister Dhami in his address welcomed all the sportspersons and organizers for the mega event. He wished the competitors to show their best performance. He said that the competition will prove to be a milestone in promoting adventure sports in Uttarakhand.

He also thanked all for hosting the prestigius competition for the first time in Uttarakhand.

Subodh Uniyal, MLA Tehri; Amit Sinha, Special Secretary, Youth and Sports Department, Uttarakhand; Sanjay Gunjiyal, Additional Director General, ITBP; Dinesh Uniyal, IG, CRPF; Nitika Khandelwal District Magistrate Tehri, and SSP Tehri, Shweta Choubey, SSP Tehri, , along with other senior police and civil administration officers, were also present on the occasion.

The event is being hosted by ITBP’s Northern Frontier, led by Manu Maharaaj, IPS, Inspector General. The event reflects ITBP’s continued focus on excellence in adventure sports under the leadership of Shatrujeet Kapur, Director General, ITBP.
