India and Mozambique concluded the Fifth Joint Defence Working Group (JDWG) meeting in Maputo, Mozambique, today. The Defence Ministry, in a statement, said the meeting reaffirms the strong ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to regional security and stability.
During the meeting, both sides discussd to further strengthening of defense cooperation between the two countries.
It added that both sides also undertook a comprehensive review of the progress made since the previous JDWG meeting and charted out a forward-looking roadmap for defence engagement.
Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence led the Indian delegation comprising senior representatives from the Ministry of Defence, the Indian Armed Forces and the Indian Coast Guard.
The deliberations focused on expansion in structured military exchanges, joint training opportunities, maritime domain awareness, conducting military exercises and promoting collaboration in the supply of defence equipment.
