In IPL Cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has faced another major setback as pacer Akash Deep has been ruled out of this season due to injury.

The 29-year-old pacer from Bengal has been undergoing rehabilitation at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Akash was picked up by the franchise at his base price of 1 crore rupees at last year’s mini-auction in Abu Dhabi.

Harshit Rana has already been ruled out for this season for KKR and Matheesha Pathirana is still awaiting clearance from Sri Lanka Cricket. Ajinkya Rahane-led KKR will start their campaign against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on 29th of March.
