The Management & Entrepreneurship and Professional Skills Council (MEPSC) celebrated its 10th Foundation Day on 17 March, 2026 (Tuesday) in New Delhi, marking a decade of strengthening India’s professional skills ecosystem and promoting entrepreneurship-led workforce development. The milestone event brought together leading voices from industry, academia, and the skilling ecosystem, reflecting on MEPSC’s journey in building industry-aligned skill standards and strengthening workforce readiness across sectors.
The event was led by Shrinivas V. Dempo, Chairman of Dempo Group of Companies and Chairman of MEPSC, along with members of the MEPSC Board and senior leaders from organisations including Air India, All India Management Association (AIMA), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., GAIL, Deloitte and the National Skill Development Corporation.
Welcoming the gathering, Col. Anil Kumar Pokhriyal, CEO of MEPSC, reflecting on the organisation’s decade-long journey and its role in strengthening India’s professional skilling ecosystem, said “Over the past ten years, MEPSC has worked towards building industry-aligned skill standards, strengthening partnerships with institutions and training providers, and empowering learners with employable professional skills,” he said. “As the future of work evolves rapidly with digital transformation and emerging technologies, our focus remains on bridging the skill gap and preparing a future-ready workforce for the nation.”
A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of MEPSC’s 10th Anniversary commemorative logo, symbolising a decade of impact and collaboration in professional skilling. The celebration also witnessed the launch of a commemorative Coffee Table Book documenting MEPSC’s journey, milestones and contributions to skill development over the past decade.
The event also featured a high-level panel discussion titled “A Decade of Professional Skilling: Reimagining Industry-Integrated Learning for the Future Workforce.” Senior industry leaders and HR experts shared insights on evolving workforce expectations, emerging skills, and the importance of stronger industry–academia collaboration.
Addressing the gathering, Shrinivas V. Dempo that said the Council has evolved into an important pillar within India’s skill development ecosystem. He said, “What began as a vision to strengthen professional and managerial skills in the country has grown into a vibrant platform connecting industry, training institutions and aspiring
professionals and entrepreneurs,” he said. “As the world of work undergoes rapid transformation driven by digital technologies, artificial intelligence and new business models, MEPSC remains committed to preparing the workforce for futureopportunities.”
He also acknowledged the contributions of MEPSC’s past Chairmen Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman of Hero Enterprise and Founding Chairman of MEPSC; Hemant Nerurkar, Former Managing Director of Tata Steel; and R. Mukundan, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Chemicals for their leadership and vision in shaping the Council’s growth.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, enabling industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange perspectives on strengthening India’s professional skills ecosystem.
The event communication and media engagement for the celebration were coordinated by Nisha Singh, Brand & Corporate Communication, MEPSC, who also acknowledged the media fraternity for their continued interest in the evolving skilling landscape.
