In a historic moment for the Agricultural sector of Assam, Karbi Anglong’s GI-tagged ginger has begun its journey to London.

State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora on Monday flagged off the export at Krishi Bhawan, Guwahati. A total of 1.2 metric tonnes of ginger was exported on the day. The Minister said that there are plans to export 21.2 metric tonnes of ginger in the coming period.

This marks the first-ever export of GI-tagged Karbi Anglong Ginger from Assam to London, signifying the growing global recognition of our state’s high-quality agricultural produce, he added.
