Nagaland: Mmhonlumo Kikon named NPP General Secretary

Former legislator from Nagaland, Mmhonlumo Kikon has been appointed as the General Secretary (Political) of the National People’s Party (NPP) with immediate effect.

The appointment was made by the NPP’s National President, Conrad K. Sangma, in exercise of the powers vested under Article 11 of the party’s Constitution.

In his new role, Mr Kikon has been entrusted with structured coordination and dialogue with various political parties and stakeholders across the Northeastern states to ensure strategic alignment and consultations towards the realisation of the vision of “One Northeast.”

He will also coordinate with State Presidents and office-bearers across states to review political developments, electoral preparedness, and inter-state organisational matters.

Additionally, Kikon has been tasked with holding regular consultations with elected Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assemblies, and other elected representatives of the party to ensure policy coherence and political coordination.

Kikon will design and supervise dedicated political programmes, consultations, conventions, and outreach initiatives aimed at enhancing the party’s presence and reach.
