The Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a Tricolor campaign in the Sundarbans region on the occsion of Republic Day 2026. Under the campaign, the national flag was hoisted with full respect and dignity on all inhabited and uninhabited islands of the Sundarbans.
The BSF conducted the campaign with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across all the islands of the Sundarbans, including Arbesia, Chandkhali, Bagmara, Chamta, Hamilton, Jhila, Gona, Panchmukhani, Pirkhali, Khatuajhuri, Harinbhanga, Matla, and Netidhopani.

The Tricolor was also hoisted on all Floating Border Outposts (FBOPs) and medium-sized vessels deployed in the Sundarbans region.
Despite the challenging geographical conditions and inaccessible mangrove areas of the Sundarbans, the Border Security Force remains vigilant in protecting the country’s borders day and night.
BSF officers and personnel, along with forest guards and forest rangers from the Forest Department, local police, National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets, local non-governmental organizations, village representatives, and local citizens actively participated in the program.
Children, in particular, showed great enthusiasm for this campaign.
During this Tricolor campaign, a clear synergy between national security and environmental conservation was evident.
The Border Security Force thanked the local citizens, all the officers, rangers, and ground staff of the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve, and all the personnel of the Hemnagar and Sundarbans Coastal Police Stations, and called for continued cooperation with the BSF in protecting the borders.
