Purvodaya Se Bharat Uday: PM Modi Dedicates New Rail Infrastructure to the Nation in West Bengal

PM flags off 3 Amrit Bharat Express from Santragachi Station, West Bengal via video conferencing

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his West Bengal visit, today inaugurated the Jairambati-Barogopinathpur-Maynapur new rail line worth Rs 280 crore via video conferencing, which is a crucial part of the Tarakeshwar-Bishnupur new rail line project.

He also flagged off a new train service between Jairambati and Maynapur, providing direct and affordable rail connectivity to passengers, students, and pilgrims in Bankura and surrounding areas.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also launched three new Amrit Bharat Express trains from Singur, West Bengal via video conferencing.

The 3 new Amrit Bharat Express trains are:

1. Kolkata (Howrah) – Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express

2. Kolkata (Sealdah) – Banaras Amrit Bharat Express

3. Kolkata (Santragachi) – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express

All three trains flagged off from Santragachi station. These three trains connects West Bengal to major regions of North, East, and South India.

Speaking on the occasion PM Modi remarked that yesterday he was in Malda and today he had the privilege of being among the people in Hooghly.

He highlighted that for a developed India, the development of Eastern India is essential, and with this goal the Union Government is continuously working.

The Prime Minister noted that during this period he had the opportunity to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth hundreds of crores related to the development of West Bengal.

PM Modi added that Bengal has also received nearly half a dozen new Amrit Bharat Express trains.

He remarked that today three more Amrit Bharat Express trains have been launched.

He pointed out that one of these trains will further strengthen the connectivity between his parliamentary constituency Varanasi and Bengal.

He further stated that Amrit Bharat Express trains have also been launched for Delhi and Tamil Nadu. The Prime Minister underlined that the past 24 hours have been unprecedented for West Bengal’s rail connectivity.

PM Modi observed that Bengal has immense potential for waterways and the Union Government is working on this as well.

Minister of Port, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal and other dignitaries were present at the function at Singur, where as Minister of State, Ministry of Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu was present at the Santragachi Station.

These rail services will boost education, employment, trade, and tourism, and further strengthen inter-state connectivity.

All these projects are significant steps towards realizing the government’s vision of “Purvodaya se Bharat Uday” (Rise of India through the East).

Through modern rail and road infrastructure, these initiatives were aligned with empowering East and Northeast India,  giving new momentum to the goal of a developed India.
