Khelo India Beach Games 2026: Satish Sharma Felicitates Medal Winners

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, today felicitated the athletes who brought laurels to the Union Territory with their outstanding performance at the Khelo India Beach Games 2026. The J&K contingent returned with an impressive haul of two gold, two silver and one bronze medal across various beach disciplines and also clinched the prestigious Overall Men’s Championship Trophy in Pencak Silat.

The historic achievement marked the first time that a northern state has won the Overall Men’s Championship title in a coastal combat sport like Pencak Silat, reflecting the growing strength and competitiveness of J&K athletes on the national stage.

Congratulating the players for their remarkable performance, the Minister said their success was a matter of pride for the entire Union Territory.

He praised their dedication, discipline and fighting spirit, which enabled them to excel against strong competition from across the country.

The Minister also wished the athletes the very best for their future sporting endeavours and assured continued support from the government to nurture and promote sporting talent in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said such achievements inspire young sportspersons and further strengthen the sporting culture in the Union Territory.
