Badminton: India Open Super 750 Begins With Top Shuttlers in Action

Top Indian shuttlers will be in action on Wednesday as the BWF Yonex-Sunrise India Open Super 750 badminton tournament gets underway at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

Indian players face a challenging draw, with 2022 champion Lakshya Sen set to take on rising star Ayush Shetty in an all-Indian first-round clash. In women’s doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will face Thailand’s Ornnicha Jongsathapornparn and Sukitta Suwachai.

Former world champion PV Sindhu will open her campaign against Vietnam’s Thuy Linh Nguyen. Other Indian contenders, including HS Prannoy, former world number one Kidambi Srikanth and Malvika Bansod, will also play their opening matches on Wednesday.

In men’s doubles, former champions Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will take on the USA’s Chen Zhi Yi and Presley Smith.
