Modi, Merz pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is on a visit to India. During his trip, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad.

The German Chancellor accompanied Prime Minister Modi to the Sabarmati Ashram, where both leaders paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister briefed Chancellor Merz on the history and significance of the Sabarmati Ashram.

Chancellor Merz was warmly received today morning by the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel at the Ahmedaba airport

India and Germany are celebrating 75 years of India–Germany diplomatic ties and 25 years of the India–Germany Strategic Partnership.
