Prime Minister Narendra Modi today will inaugurate the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions at Marwadi University. This is the second among the four Vibrant Gujarat regional Conferences, which is designed to decentralise the successful “Vibrant Gujarat” model, bringing investment opportunities and industrial growth directly to the doorstep of 12 western districts of Saurashtra and Kutch.
The conference accelerates the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 through global engagement. During his visit, the Prime Minister also will unveil significant infrastructure projects, including fourteen new greenfield smart industrial estates and a specialized medical device park.
Later in the day, the PM will inaugurate the remaining stretch of Phase 2 of Ahmedabad metro from Sector 10A to Mahatma Mandir metro station in Gandhinagar.
The conference serves as a specialized platform for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions, targeting critical sectors such as Ceramics in Morbi, Engineering in Rajkot, and the vast Ports and Logistics network of the coastline.
Global engagement remains a priority with Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine participating as partner countries to explore opportunities in Green Energy, Petrochemicals, and Agro-processing.
The conference is a major catalyst for the regional economy, with more than fifteen hundred Memoranda of Understanding expected to be signed during the two-day event.
A significant highlight is the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet, where over eighteen hundred business meetings have been pre-scheduled to connect local industries with global markets.
This international gathering features one hundred and ten buyers representing sixteen countries, including the USA, Australia, and various European nations, focusing on sectors like engineering, textiles, and agriculture.
Beyond these global interactions, the Prime Minister’s announcement of fourteen new smart GIDC estates and a dedicated medical device park in Rajkot will provide a modern foundation for local manufacturing.
By bridging the gap between local MSMEs and international stakeholders, the regional conference ensures that the Kutch and Saurashtra regions become central players in Gujarat’s ongoing growth story.
