Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, addressed the Regional AI Impact Summit 2026 in Jaipur today.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in day-to-day life. He said that the AI Mission was established to ensure the smooth integration of AI into everyday use.

Vaishnaw said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put forward a clear vision for the proper development and adoption of AI in India for the benefit of citizens.

He noted that the first principle of this vision is the democratization of technology, ensuring that everyone has access to technology and that it can be developed within the country.

He added that this approach aligns with the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, enabling India to meet its technological objectives. Keeping this motivating vision in mind, the AI Mission and the Ministry were created following extensive consultations with experts.
