Flight operations at ASG, Navi Mumbai International Airport commenced today in the airport’s operational rollout. The first scheduled departure — an early-morning service to Hyderabad — departed at 0840 hrs from the new facility.

A total of 15 departure flights were done, catering to key domestic destinations and reflecting the initial phase of operations. From 26 December 2025 onwards, the airport will operate 25 scheduled departure flights daily.

Flight frequency is expected to increase to 40 departures per day by the end of January 2026, aligning with phased capacity enhancements and airline network expansions.

The airport’s initiating carriers include multiple Indian airlines operating under scheduled commercial services as part of this launch phase.

Passengers arriving at and departing from the terminal were welcomed by officials from Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) and partner airline representatives.

Prior to the commencement of scheduled flight operations, all requisite security protocols were implemented in full compliance with Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) standards, ensuring a safe and secure environment for travellers and staff.

Navi Mumbai International Airport, located in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, represents a significant expansion of India’s civil aviation infrastructure.

Designed as a major aviation gateway alongside the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai, NMIA will help avoiding congestion at one of India’s busiest aviation markets.

The airport is developed under a public-private partnership led by Adani Airport Holdings and the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) through Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL).

It features a modern terminal and runway capable of handling 20 million passengers annually in its first phase, with expansion plans to scale capacity significantly in future phases.

The facility has been assigned the IATA airport code “NMI” and ICAO code “VANM”.
