India lost to Pakistan in the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup One-day Cricket Final. Pakistan crowned with the coveted trophy winning by 19 runs. Opening Batsman Sameer Minhas was awarde the player of the match for his splendid century.
Winning the toss India invited Pakistan in the final in Dubai. Pakistan was aggressive from the very first ball. Opener Sameer Minhas scored 172 runs in just 113 balls with 17 fours and 9 bib sixes.
Middle order batsman Ahmed Hussai contributed with a half century. For India Deepesh Devendran took 3 wickets.
Pakistan set a mammoth target of 348 for India. Chasing the target with a run rate of almost 7 per over, India started badly. Opener-Captain Ayush Mhatre could onlu score 2 runs. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shown his aggression and got 26 runs in just 10 balls.
Once India lost it’s three top order batsmen, it was very difficult to score at will. But India maintained the run rate of around seven till 12 overs. The real problem was wickets and not a single batsman able to play a big innings. India bowled out for a paltry 156 runs in just 26.2 overs and handed over the final match to Pakistan.
For Pakistan Ali Raza shown an excellent performance in bowling with a figure of 4/42, scalping price wickets of Captain Mhatre and Sooryavanshi.
