Delhi Police has arrested 16 gangsters and notorious criminals in the national capital and its adjoining areas. In order to curb organised crime across Delhi-NCR, Delhi Police carried out a large-scale night operation comprising over eight hundred fifty police personnels.
According to Delhi police, the coordinated drive targeted major gangs involved in extortion, illegal arms trade, drug trafficking, robbery and snatching.
In a statement, Delhi Police informed that under this operation, police raided more than one hundred fifty premises across Delhi and Haryana. In these raids, police recovered 18 pistols, 43 live cartridges, button-actuated knives, two cars, 3 two-wheelers, 122 mobile phones, two wireless sets, and seized one bulletproof Thar and one bulletproof Scorpio-N.
During the raid, the police also recovered cash of more than ten lakh rupees and psychotropic substances of more than six hundred and fifty grams. Delhi Police has registered a total of 16 cases under the Arms Act, two under the NDPS Act and two under the Excise Act.
