During the Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh e-inaugurated the Solar component of the Green Hydrogen Project at Chushul, Ladakh, developed jointly by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and the Indian Army. The project will set a new benchmarks in clean and renewable energy.
He also released the brochure ‘Green Initiatives 2.0’, highlighting the Army’s continued commitment to sustainable practices, solid waste management (AMSA), and environmental stewardship.
The Indian Army remains in close coordination with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) for environment and biodiversity protection, reinforcing the collective resolve for ecological security and climate resilience. With decisive steps in renewable energy, water conservation, and sustainable infrastructure, the Indian Army continues to lead the path toward a cleaner and greener future.
