WHO launches platform for emergency at AIIMS

The World Health Organisation (WHO) launched their site for Pandemic Preparedness and Emergency Response at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi today.

The WHO informed that a global network of such sites is being established to conduct investigations and studies rapidly in the case of any pandemic or an epidemic for timely public health response.

During the launch ceremony, WHO Representative to India, Payden and Director of AIIMS, Dr M Srinivas were present.

The Director informed that the site will function in non-pandemic periods also, ensuring that the system remains robust and ready to respond effectively whenever required.
