Assam today remembered the legendary singer, lyricist, and cultural icon Dr Bhupen Hazarika on his 14th death anniversary. Tributes poured in from every corner of Assam as people paid homage to the ‘Sudhakantha’.

A special programme was organised at the Latasil playground in Guwahati by the Department of Cultural Affairs in association with the Kamrup (Metro) district administration.

As a mark of respect, around 5,000 artists came together to perform Dr Hazarika’s immortal song “Manuhe Manuhor Babe” in unison, filling the air with emotion and reverence.

The event was attended by Minister Bimal Bora, MPs Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania, among others.
