African swine fever: Jorhat district administration imposes strict preventive measures in Assam

Due to the increasing cases of African swine fever in various parts of Jorhat, Assam, the district administration has imposed strict preventive measures.

Deputy Commissioner, Jay Shivani has issued a notification prohibiting the transport, sale and purchase of pigs and pork within the district.

The order also directs that any pig death must be immediately reported to the Veterinary Department for sample collection and verification.

The restrictions will remain in force until further notice, and legal action will be taken against those who violate the directive.
