National Unity Day: Unity Run organized across Mizoram

The Unity Run was organized across Mizoram and other parts of the country this morning to commemorate National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas), observed annually to honour the birth anniversary of India’s first Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

In Aizawl, the event began at 6:15 a.m., attracting around 400 participants.

Runs were conducted simultaneously across all districts of Mizoram. Sports Authority of India, in collaboration with Department of Sports and Youth Services, organised the Aizawl leg of the Unity Run.

The event was flagged off by Sports Department Director Pu H. Lalhmingthanga at Sikulpuikawn, with participants running through Upper Khatla before concluding at Mizoram Legislative Assembly House.

Unity Day Run is part of the ongoing Fit India Run initiative, aimed at promoting national integration and encouraging physical fitness.
