Constable Shivani of Border Security Force (BSF) has been given a promotion to the rank of Head Constable on Thursday for her outstanding performance in the World Wushu Championship (WWC). The rank ceremony has been conducted by Daljit Singh Chawdhary, DG BSF at BSF Camp Chhawla.
Constable Shivani (Now Head Constable) has represented the country at 17th World Wushu Championship 2025 in Brasilia, Brazil and won a Silver medal.
After joining within 5 months of her service with BSF, Constable Shivani has earned the promotion. Necessary relaxations and permissions have been obtained from Department of Personal and Training (DoPT), GoI.
Her rank ceremony was conducted in the presence of senior BSF officers and the congregation of sports personnel of BSF.
Addressing the gathering, DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary congratulated Head Constable Shivani and exhorted the sportsperson of the BSF present there, that Shivani’s exceptional achievement in the world of sports, along with her corresponding out of turn promotion serves as an example for other sports personnel to follow.
Earlier, in July 2025 Constable Anuj of BSF representing Indian Wushu Team was given an promotion for his outstanding performance. He had participated the 10th Sanda World Wushu Championship held in Jiangyin, China in April 2025.
