IAF set to receive the Tejas Mk-1A aircraft today

The fighter can fly at a speed of 2200 kmph

The Indian Air Force is set to receive the Tejas Mk-1A aircraft today. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will unveil the Tejas LCA Mk1A fighter aircraft in Nashik today.

During the event, the Defence Minister will also inaugurate the second production facility for the HTT-40 trainer aircraft. This facility will increase the overall strength and capability of the Indian Air Force.

The Tejas fighter aircraft is being manufactured at two existing facilities in Bengaluru, where 16 jets are produced annually.  This is a historic step towards the country’s self-reliance.

The new aircraft has a modern radar system as well as modern attack capabilities. This fighter can fly at a speed of 2200 kmph  and has the ability to refuel in the air.
