The Indian Army is hosting the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ (UNTCC) Chiefs’ Conclave in New Delhi, today. The three-day conclave, bringing together senior military leadership from 32 nations to deliberate on operational challenges, evolving threats, share best practices and build shared understanding on future peacekeeping.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the inaugural session of the conclave today. He said today peace-keeping faces more complex than ever before. Peace-keepers are deployed in the volatile environments.
Talking about four C formula, Singh said it will serve as a guiding principle for the nations that will contributeto the UN peace-keeping. He proposed the four Cs i.e enhanced Consultation, Cooperation, Coordination and Capacity Building.
He urged to implement this formula to insure effective publications, meaningful engagements,innovations and capabilities.
The session will also feature Chiefs and Heads of Delegations putting forth their viewpoints. Defence Exhibitions for shared capacity building, bilaterals and cultural exchanges will also feature during the conclave. The UNTCC serves as a vital forum to address operational challenges, evolving threats, interoperability, inclusivity in decision-making and the role of technology and training in strengthening UN peacekeeping.
