Indian Cricketer Amit Mishra announced his retirement from all form of cricket today. Sharing his long attachment to the game he said, “The a game that has been my first love, my teacher, and my greatest source of joy.”
Thanking them all who stood behind his career for the success,he stated,”This journey has been filled with countless emotions — moments of pride, hardship, learning, and love. I am deeply grateful to the BCCI, Haryana Cricket Association, my coaches, support staff, colleagues, and most importantly, the fans, whose faith and support gave me strength at every step.”
He also thanked his family.”To my family — thank you for standing firmly by my side through the highs and lows. To my teammates and mentors — thank you for making this journey so special”, he said.
Mishra debuted ODI in 2003 against South Africa and Test cricket back in 2008 against Australia.
In test cricket he has played 22 tests grabing 76 wickets and ODIs got 64 wickets in 36 matches.
The Delhi born right-arm leg break bowler played for Haryana in Ranji Trophy and in T20 franchise cricket Indian Premier League(IPL) represented Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Chargers, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In an Emotional message Mishara stated, “As I close this chapter, my heart is full of gratitude and love. Cricket has given me everything, and now, I look forward to giving back to the game that made me who I am.”
