An apartment collapsed at Virar in Maharashtra’s Palghar today. At least 17 people died and many injured in the incidence. According to the local authority four Storey Ramabai apartment had nearly 50 flats collapsed at 12.05 PM Wednesday.
Rescue operation is underway. NDRF and Local Civics authorities are trying their best to rescue the people under the debris.
As per the report, when the birth day party of a little girl was underway on the fourth floor, 12 flats of a block collapsed.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic collapse of a residential building in Palghar, Maharashtra, which has affected many and left several injured.
The PMO India on ‘X’ stated:
“Deeply saddened by the mishap due to the collapse of a building in Palghar, Maharashtra. My thoughts are with the affected people and their families in this difficult hour. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. Authorities are providing all possible assistance to those affected: PM @narendramodi”
